Care Instructions for your SeaGem ceramic wares
SeaGem ceramics can be used for decorative or culinary use. Our products are food safe, oven, grill, microwave and dishwasher safe using proper care. Stoneware is sensitive to thermal shock (temperature extremes). To avoid the risk of heat shock, never transfer stoneware directly from freezer to oven/grill. When using on a traditional grill, build your fire to medium heat. It is recommended to allow 6 inches between the stoneware and charcoal. Cooking at closer range will weaken the stoneware and cause it to crack. With a gas grill, using med/high setting is recommended for cooking temperatures. In your oven, place your stoneware in the middle of the oven using medium heat and increasing to desired cooking temperature.
Always use extreme caution when moving your stoneware from a high heat cooking source, especially when it is cold outside. Stoneware performs best when allowed to cool slowly. Extreme temperature changes will cause thermal shock and will likely result, damaging or cracking in the stoneware. With proper care, you will have many years of enjoyment with your SeaGem ceramics.
